Serving one million people, that is half the population of Budapest, the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant has been completed as part of one of the largest environmental investment in Central Europe. The realization of the HUF 38 million Main Collector Project on the Buda side of the Danube has been managed by us. After collecting 95% of the wastewater generated in Buda, the Main Collector channels it to the treatment plant. As a member of the engineering consortium we have been in charge of project management and construction supervision in accordance with FIDIC standards. Under our management, the investment has also covered the refurbishment of 6,5 km of tram tracks and reconstruction of a 400-meter road section at the lower quay in Buda, including the related utility replacements.
The collectors running underneath the Danube from both the Pest and the Buda side to the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant located at the northern tip of Csepel Island have been built with twin pressure pipes. A technical challenge of this task lay within the uniquely small-radius curved extrusion that also had to be applied. As a member of the engineering consortium we have been in charge of project management and construction supervision in accordance with FIDIC standards.
