Békásmegyer market

Our Group has been in charge of planning tasks as regards the reconstruction of the Market in Heltai Jenő tér that had been badly deteriorated over the past 30 years. The project has been initiated by the local government, with the aim of providing a modern new commercial facility that, beyond its bare function, would operate as a true district sub-centre serving as a forum for the cultural and community needs of the neighbourhood. As part of the reconstruction, the former hall has been demolished with only its structure remaining in place, to be followed by expansion and renovation. The rundown merchants’ market around the 3,400 sqm market hall has been demolished and replaced by a 2,200 sqm urban community market. The project further included a 5,700 sqm partially underground garage to accommodate app. 200 parking spaces. Public places in the direct environment will also be refurbished to suit the high architectural quality of the planned building.
